MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! A new record for my mobile, which today has more than 60 smses in its inbox. All are xmas greetings. Most are replies. You see, i'm too lazy to send cards, or even e-cards, so i rely on sms. It's more direct, and it's a good way of updating my phonebook. I'm expecting a hefty bill next month, for sending so many smses! Hahaha... I've been getting some critics for sending xmas sms early, but i guess they didn't read my sms, because in it, there are these words: Christmas is NEAR. "Near"! Not "here"! I also have a habit of separating christmas and new year. That's because i send christmas greetings only to christians, while new year greetings are sent to all. So you can expect receiving another sms from me in less than a week from now. Hehehe...

the end is coming! be prepared!!

the end of 2004, i mean. hehe... for me, it's 1 day away. today and tomorrow. er.. does that mean 2 days away? anyway, we at ippr have extra holiday from 27 to 30 dec, due to some redecorations and renovations to be done. don't want to get us consultants dirty, you know? very, very nice, isn't it? sure makes other people envious! ha! nyahnyahnyah! hehe... but i'm bored already. practically have nothing to do. bah.

the situation at infokomputer gets more interesting day by day. yesterday i chatted with mbak warih, and she told me some exciting (and juicy!) updates. and from all that updates, i come to the conclusion that most (or even ALL) of the editorial staffs at infokomputer hate my ex-boss. get that, you grumpy old woman! HAHAHAHA... it's a warning for you, single woman all around the world: GET MARRIED!!! or at least get a long-term relationship. or become old and grumpy! *LOL*

started a new mailing list for alumni sd oel 89. i specifically stated that i needed at least 15 participants (including me) to start. they agreed. so, here i am, managing yet another milis. the others are, of course, isabu and simplicita. i let go of milis-infonet.

speaking of simplicita, yesterday was supposed to be the last practice in december. due to timing reason, i decided not to participate and sing at kkg's christmas party. too bad. i missed singing already! perhaps i'll be able to come and see them sing. yeah. maybe i'll do that, time permitting.

one last note: I'M BORED!!!!!!!!!!!

"step" no more

That's it. No more "step" on infokomputer. I just read the latest ed. It still has some articles i wrote before i left. But i can't take any claims on them because they don't have my code. Instead, the grumpy old editor replaced "step" with a star. It annoys me a bit, but i knew she'd did it. Nevertheless i was (and am) still annoyed. So i smsed some of my former co-workers. They agreed that it was wrong. But hey, she's no longer the boss, and obviously she's no longer MY boss. Hahaha...

Btw, i visited old gramedia yesterday. I was called to cisco to see the shooting info did for their vcd. It was good seeing jerry & mas warto again. Although i wasn't thrilled to see BENCONG doing the interview. If i was still in charge, i won't let BENCONG anywhere near the vcd. Funny thing was, i still felt like a part of the vcd. Of course, i wrote the scenario. But yesterday, i felt like i was still an info guy. Hehehe...

Anyway, after the shooting, i went to palmerah with them. It was surreal, going to an old neighborhood. Some people had gone home already, but some were still there. Had a chat with mas ton. Too bad i didn't open the mag before i met him, otherwise i'd tell him about what the grumpy old editor did. Again, mas ton offered me to do some freelance work. I said if i have the time, i'll do it, no problem. But maybe i'll insist on having my name on the mag. Yeah, definitely. They were surprised to see me, all dressed up neat, and wearing tie! Hahaha... It was good to visit them. And i kinda missed them, too. Some of them, i mean.

I'm back!

well, i wasn't really going out or anything, but it feels like ages since the last time i posted. oookayy... what've i been doing...

oh yeah! last week was all Cisco Showcase. from monday to friday. the showcase itself was on wednesday, but i had to attend meetings, go to shangri-la, etc etc etc. we (me, deden, eka, chorie) stayed at shangri-la for 2 nights, which was cool. no breakfast, not cool. good lunch & dinner, cool. it was hard labour. monday night, we had to prepare the "goody bag", which was actually a bunch of brochures put into a paper bag. we had to make 500 goody bags! *groan* hard labour! if i have a good right leg, perhaps it wouldn't be a big problem. hmm... we finished at 3am. i spent an hour or so in the bathtub until me leg felt somewhat normal. hehe..

the showcase itself is considered a success. the cisco person even dubbed it the most successful showcase EVER. wow! i spent most of the day backstage, watching the notebook used for the presentations. *yawn*

even after the showcase was over, our job wasn't finished. there were (and ARE) reports to be made. money to be paid, etc etc etc. even now, i have 400.000 in my hand for one of the talent! damn!

but all in all, i'm beginning to enjoy this pr job. there are highs and lows, of course. but it's good to change.

speaking of change, i've been hearing stories about infokomputer. apparently to improve things, mas tono applied some major changes. one of those is to remove hierarchy. no more managing editor, or "redaktur pelaksana". mbak wiek is still editing articles, but from what i can understand, her power is reduced. that's still ok, i think. the other one is quite scary. there can no more be deadline misses. anyone who miss the deadline 3 times in a row will be fired! *GASP!* that's new! as far as i recall, there hasn't been a case of firing. it's really scary, but i think it's the right way. we.. pardon me, they've been feeling too comfortable, thinking that they can miss the deadline without being punished. is it harsh? don't think so. after all, a discipline is a discipline. i just hope infokomputer will get better and bounce back from the lows of these last few months.

*yawn* felt so exhausted, i fell asleep around 8 or 9 pm. The effect of the reunion might have something to do with it. And also, i went to mangga 2 yesterday. Let papa picked some audio cds, bajakan, of course, and a new nokia charger. Jola & donny bought some christmas decorations. Oh, and i bought a couple of belts. Dusit & m2m weren't too bad. It was the very crowded itc that have me headache. But overall it was ok.i managed to not buy anything un-necessary (READ: computer stuff). That's quite an accomplishment, you know. Hehehe... Mama didn't buy anything, but we went to mangga besar to this makassar restaurant. There, mama tried some meatballs. They aren't called "bakso", but "nyuknyan" or something. She'd been very curious about them until yesterday, and she wasn't disappointed. Hehehe... I tried the fried rice. It was unusual, the color wasn't black, but red! And it was full of grilled pork. Yummy! So even though i was very sleepy & exhausted come evening, it was quite a day.

A reunion! Schoolmates, of course, but from elementary school. OEL 89! I met friends who haven't been in touch for 15 years. Wow! The atmosphere was so unbelievable. Most of the faces stay the same. Most are on my friendster list. Thanks to donald & astia who had the ideas for the reunion. Based on my experience, spontaneous ideas for reunion are the ones that usually work. Take isabu, for example. The buka puasa at ps was quite successfull, because it was a spontaneous idea. The current plan for gathering at muly's place are going nowhere as i write this. Back to oel reunion, i had a blast! I've forgotten how crazy this people can be. Considering that some of them are already married and have children, to have them to stay until 11pm was enough proof that they enjoyed seeing each other. The food was secondary. We ate for the sake of not wanting to get kicked out. Hehehe... The old stories went flying, especially embarrassing ones. And there were some of my early crushes *ahem* hahaha... Thankfully those old crushes are married now. But, honestly, i was a bit heartbroken. *sniff* Anyway, we compiled a list of mobile phone numbers and email addresses. And i got to keep the list! I've already input it into an excel files, and promised them to email the list, probably on monday. I also took some pictures, and i'll upload them to my webshots site. It'll be easier to send them by emails, but not everyone has gmail, unfortunately. There'll a wedding tonight, but i don't know whether i'll come or not. As i said in one of my previous blogs, i'm not a big fan of weddings, currently.
